Planning a Trip with bad weather conditions

Last week (October 21 to 22) I took my little Fiat 500e on a 930km Roadtrip (2× 465km). I run the the Beta Version with Premium subscription and OBD connection. On the plus side: The Android Auto seems to be less resource hungry than it was back in july when I did my last roadtrip. On the negative side: On day one, the weather was bad. We were mainly driving toward west with a strong wind (about 20 km/h with 50km/h gusts) coming from the south west so roughly hitting the car front at and angle of 30 to 45°. Each stretch between charges was roughly 150 to 180km with 15% planned charge level at charging stop. What actually happened is that we ended up having 5 to 10% offset to what was initially forecast by ABRP. We hit one charger with only 5% battery left whereas at the beginning of the stretch ABRP calculated we would arrive at the charger with 15%. On Day two we still had strong winds, but since we were heading eastward the wind would hit the car from behind with an angle of 30 to 45°. Even there we reached each charger with 7 to 9% level lower than what was initially expected. When leaving a charger the estimated level was ok. We left a charger with 90% charge level, estimated level at arrival was 15%. While driving, the estimated arrival level would stay stable until we had reached about half to two third of the stretch, than it started dropping. IMHO ABRP did not take the weather conditions into consideration and/or just stuck with the consumption curves it had since the last 2 years I have been using instead of adapting live to the bad weather. I could understand that it gets the first stretch wrong, but the second one it should get it more accurate. I hope this feedback will be helpful.

Back in the day you had more control over things and a lot less flash. It processed faster and was easier to customize your route. It used to be an app for nerds now it's an app for idiots.

Hard to read or identify the route numbers

Hard to read or identify the route numbers for hey and roads on the app. Unless I missing something

"Did you charge..."

No matter, if I skip a planned charger, if I really charged, or if the charger didn’t work - ABRP nerves with such questions - in the moments with maximum stress, especially when you passed by a planned charger and you did not use it. Then you have to stop, cancel the navigation delete the skipped charger, replan, restart navigation - in the middle of city traffic, horning cars… . And ABRP does not offer all possibilities, i.e. I just skipped the charger, to use the next one…

Wrong locations

I used abrp to navigate and the first 2 locations were totally wrong. I asked for the directions to the train station in Nijverdal Netherlands and it send me to a tunnel near the station where I couldn’t stop. Also after that I needed to go to a holiday park and it sent me to the correct street, but more than 500m away from the entrance. A few days later I wanted to go bowling and it sent me a couple blocks away from the target. It is nice that it tracks the percentage, but navigation is really bad.

MG4 EV Urban Picture

It seems MG4 EV Urban 2026+ still lacks a picture for the app. The app uses a picture of the MG4 2023+ which is a different vehicle. When will “the urban” be properly represented?

Make planning for future trips easier to enter. Hard to find.

High power consumption

I have a 2026 Silverado EV which has Google built-in. I downloaded the ABRP app directly onto the vehicles entertainment system. The truck is telling me that the app is drawing too much power and it worked but every time I turn the truck off it disabled the app and I had to go in and manually re-enable it to continue my trip. I have no idea what's going on there.

Data broker retirement

Just received an email that Porsche data broker will be retired due to “limited models and geography” and suggest switching to enode or OBD but no more detailed impact of moving to enode. Would be nice to provide detailed impact assesment and more warning than 10 days.

Map Directions

The color scheme of the map directions are hard to follow at a glance. That’s the only reason I never use it.

VW ID.5 PRO MJ 2027 Software 6.0

Dear ABRP Team, I have decided to cancel my ABRP Premium subscription because my vehicle is still not supported. What I find particularly frustrating is that the upcoming VW ID. Tiguan, which is not even available on the market yet, is already listed in your app, while my vehicle is still missing. As a paying customer, I find this very disappointing. I would have expected better support for existing vehicles before adding models that haven’t even been released yet. Unfortunately, I no longer see a reason to continue paying for a service that does not properly support my car. I hope you will reconsider your priorities regarding vehicle support in the future. 90% type 2 stations doesn't exist

Trip plan useless

Used app to plan a 4 hour trip. The app sent me at least an hour out of my way, and when I got to the charger it was a slow charger at an IKEA. Had to find the fast charger on my own. So stressful and unnecessary. I will not trust this app alone.

Map unaware of major construction

You need a better feed of data. App gave me directions to an exit that has obviously been closed for days if not weeks.

The battery capacity of the 2024 Ioniq 6 single-motor standard-range model is listed as 58 kW, but the correct capacity is 53 kW
