Autoroute service via service road with LOCKED gate

I last used ABRP about 2 years ago. I stopped because 3x in areas of poor/no mobile reception, it got lost !!!

In principle, it is a great app. Doing a long trip through France, I thought the problems might have been solved and I’d give it another go …

This time, ABRP found a service road access to an autoroute services area with chargers … via a LOCKED gate !!!

Fortunately, I had sufficient charge to reach another rapid charger station. This error could have been a major disaster. So, cancelling subscription and I won’t be using ABRP again.

Where does this happen?

    Hello @Larry Stoter,

    Can you send us the address of the locked gate that you mentioned? We have received reports of poor results with the restricted areas and therefore we would like to know where this happened.

      ABRP was trying to take me to the Ionity chargers at Autoroute A10 Aire de service de Tours la Longue Vue, 37380 Monnaie, Southbound.

      It started taking me along various minor roads into Monnaie. It then took me out of Monnaie along the D5 East. Just before going under the A10, I was directed right SW down a very minor road, towards the A10 Peage. Except it became clear this was a service road, gated at https://maps.app.goo.gl/JsoreP5TafJ8sd7i9?g_st=ic If you look carefully on the Google Maps satellite view, the gate is visible, next to the A10 Peage booths. ABRP seemed to believe I could get on to the A10 just past the tolls to access chargers further SW at the aire.

        Updates for roads that are not accessible are not controlled by us. We get the information from a third-party data provider that gives us updates regarding road closures and incidents. They had not made this update and therefore it gave you a path through to the gate. We apologize for this inconvenience as we are working to getting better map accessibility data.
