ABRP Says Viable Plan Isn't
Twice today the message below, “This plan is no longer viable” popped on the CarPlay screen. The arrival target SoC was set to 25% and the predicted arrival SoC had been steadily climbing.

On the face of it the plan was clearly viable and I was able to complete the trip without a charging stop. The SoC at my destination was about 42%, IIRC.
The same thing happened on the return trip about 2 miles from my destination with about a 35% SoC, well above the 25% target and more than adequate to go the remaining 2 miles 🙂. That happened at about 14:30 PDT (-07:00) on 5 July 2026. I used the bug report button on the return trip, but was unable to get a screen capture.

thanks for reporting. We investigated and found an issue in the backend, that is fixed now. So you shouldn’t see it anymore. Sorry for the inconveniance.

From what I can understand, anytime you drove the route, it worked until after a while where you got the message saying that it was not viable anymore? Were the alternative routes similar to the one you originally had or how did those ones differ?

I drove the route twice: outbound from Gig Harbor, WA to Beaverton, OR and then the return. Both times I got the “not viable” message.
The first time, on the outbound trip the message appeared about an hour or so into the trip and I press the Alternatives button. ABRP was unable to find any alternatives (even though I was in an area where there are lots of places to charge). Since it seemed obvious to me that ABRP was wrong – I’ve driven to that area a number of times and know that I can easily make in on one charge, and the current charge and estimated destination SoC were consistent with ABRP’s initial estimate and my experience) – I continued driving (and made it 🙂).
On the return trip the warning appeared when I was just a few minutes from home (which was also the nearest charger) and I had about 100 miles of range remaining so I didn’t bother to look at the alternative routes.
One odd thing about the plans for this trip is that on both the outbound trip and the return ABRP proposed routes that required brief (~5 minutes) charging stops for 2 of the 3 options. On the outbound trip the shortest plan included a charging stop and I selected it with the intention of skipping the stop, but before I got to the proposed stop ABRP offered a shorter option (which was, IIRC, the same route without the charging stop).
I submitted a bug on the planning, Puzzling Trip Plan Includes Unnecessary Charging Stops, since it seemed quite odd that ABRP was proposing short stops on a route that did not require them.
