Puzzling Trip Plan - Includes Unnecessary Charging Stops

The plans below for similar trips from Gig Harbor, WA to Beaverton, OR show what seems to me to be some odd charging stops. Both trips are planned with a KIA EV6 that is fully charged (100%) and with a target SoC at the destination of 15%. The trip can be made on about 45 KWh, so the arrival SoC should be around 40% – in other words I would not expect a charging stop.

For this trip the recommended plan includes a 5 minute charging stop. The two alternate plans do not.

Using slightly different starting points, the recommended plan for this trip does not recommend a charging stop, but one of the alternates does.

What’s going on? The trip parameters do not seem to require a charging stop in either case.
