no voice in 6.1.6

I’m running latest ABRP 6.1.6 (3592) and iOS 26.0.1 and no navigation spoken directions will work in ABRP. I can see available voices in Navigation Voice in ABRP, and they are definitely installed in iOS because I can play the voices in Accessibility settings after downloading them.

NO voices work, everything is silent, “test voice” in ABRP doesn’t work. iOS play button does work, so this is some kind of ABRP bug. How can you ship software like this?

Super annoyed ready to dump my subscription. How can you not have the basic stuff of giving me spoken directions working?

I’ve spent way too long trying to get this to work, this is really kinda crappy software still.

Open to any ideas.

Where does this happen?

Apologies for this bug - we have just released a hotfix for it. You should be able to kill the app, and on restart the new version (3593) should be installed with working voice again.

Unfortunately, this hotfix doesn't work. The "Test Voice" button doesn't work either.

Yeah so the “Test voice” button in Settings where you set which voice to use now works —— but having ABRP speak directions still does not. Appreciate the quick “fix” but maybe you can test yourselves before releasing a fix for your fix.

Might I suggest that you guys maybe get some, ya know, automated testing to catch basic regressions like this in your builds? Or maybe you could use them before releasing?

Hey, I tried again with iOS and Android and both instructions and test button work for me. In which scenario there are no spoken instructions? Carplay/AA or via phone speakers?

Hey, can you please check at bottom of settings and make sure, that you are really on 3593 when you test this? This is not a version which is installed from the app store, but applied as a patch on start of the app. It requires the app to be restarted at least once, so the patch is correctly used.

Actually an update. Following this suggestion, I swiped away ABRP then restarted it, and now “Test voice” does not work either. So there was something that had it work first time after updating to the hotfix, but then not afterwards.

One more update— I think it is now working!

What I did after swiping away to force close again is to go to Settings > Navigation and to toggle off each of the toggles for Route directions, Voice guidance, and Include street names. Then I toggled all 3 back on, then went to select “Navigation voice” and Test Voice button worked.

And then it spoke directions when I used navigation.

Whatever was broken in a binding or something was reset when manipulating the toggles. You might want to think about simplifying those toggles, they make no sense to a normal user.

We are currently revisiting it and will definitely improve on that. Thanks for your feedback.

After a few restarts and logging back into ABRP, the speech output is now working again. Thank you very much.

Same issue on Samsung Galaxy M52 Android 13 - ABRP: 6.1.6 (3592) - Worked on the 15th and 16th of October, Google says there was a new version pushed to my device on the 17th. I guess that new version causes the issue.

We will release a new version 6.1.7 that includes the fix and is distributed via the app stores. Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your feedback and understanding.

Latest by end of week, but until then the hotfix should already be applied to your current installed version.

One more question. Once you've finished the new version 6.1.7, what's the best way to update it?

    No Voice

In ABRP I have to voices - Sara and now Magnus. Placed in the system Voices in iOS26 on an iPhone.

But No voice is hear when I use ABRP in Car-Play. And when I Open the voices in the App and I klick on Test Voice nothing comes out.

    What Can I do.?

      Hi @Jan Svendsen,

In your report, you say you’re running version 5.6.1 of the ABRP iOS app. This is an old version. Please go to the app store and update the app.

Ok, there’s an existing ticket for this issue then. I’ll merge this ticket there.
