Wrong route planning with huge detour

When I plan a route from my village to Madrid, the app suggests a huge detour that doesn’t make any sense. Even when I plan a route from my village to the next village, it tells me to take a 50 km detour when the direct route is only 12 km.

When I use TomTom or Google Maps, the route is calculated correctly.

Strangely, when I turn off “Traffic Data,” the app plans the route correctly. However, there is no actual traffic, since it estimates only 12 minutes to reach the destination.

The only explanation I can think of is that there might be an error in the live traffic data indicating that the road is closed due to current roadworks. But this information should always be taken into account even when “Traffic Data” is turned off, because nobody wants a route that includes a blocked road…

So I don’t really understand what is happening. Could you please check? I’ve shared the route from my village, Colmenar Viejo, to the nearby village of Tres Cantos (without personal data). Thanks for the help!

      Hi, thank you for the swift answer! So it’s confirmed that the road is blocked in your map system, however that is definitely wrong. If you can look on google maps or TomTom (plan.tomtom.com), the road is partially closed. This motorway is since 6 months under mayor roadworks (adding a 3rd lane in both directions). As this is a mayor road from the nothern villages to Madrid, of course it can’t be cut. As TomTom map mentions “one lane closed”. I know from experience with many years of enjoying TomTom that map traffic is automatically updated with real time data from TomTom devices and apps and when more than a defined amount of users is passing within a defined amount of time, it automatically updates the situation (it also gets the traffic congestion information from there combined with traffic information from other platforms). Could ABRP do something like it?

      By the way, in my opinion ABRP should not plan a route when it believes a road is blocked at a certain point, even with the “real time traffic”-option switched off.

        I got the same route with and without live traffic.

        We don’t have the possibility right now to do the same thing as TomTom.
