What happened to the user notes for destinations?

It used to be that you could enter notes about each destination. That feature now seems to be gone. Why was it removed? For longer, more complex trips it was a welcome feature, esp when the name of the location was not available and you needed to enter the address of the location. The notes feature was used to enter the name of the location. Also other information about the destination was entered as well. Why are important and useful features being removed?
