Weird routing and planning

Hi, getting a less than ideal plan that seems to be causing a bad route.

Starting from my origin at 100%, the primary issue is that it thinks it needs to take me to a charger to go 59-76%, even though there is a second charger from 29-78%. My minimum charge for charger and destination is 15%, and the lowest that the route gives is 25%, so the first charge is not necessary, especially since it’s not a preferred network.

The best route is Arcata straight to the Tesla in Fort Bragg, which would be 100-21%, totally fine by the criteria. Then charge 21-68%, arrive at destination with 15%.

The need for the first charge possibly explains the second issue, routing that’s 36km out of the way over the direct route of 417 km. If I exclude that charger, the route is correct:

Still overly conservative by 10%, but I’ll certainly take that over missing one of the most beautiful stretches of road in the world… :)

If I really force the issue and specify to only charge to 68% in Fort Bragg, and exclude an unnecessary charge en route, it adds a pretty funny charge from 96-100%, followed by the route I would expect, showing that the Fort Bragg to 68% is viable. So something odd is going on.

I understand, algorithmically, that this problem is NP-hard and there are only heuristics. But there’s not that many chargers and really only one route that’s even close to right. Thanks!

P.S. The new graphic design is truly beautiful. Spare without being harsh or boring, and the charger overview is so good I think I may be able to give up Plugshare! Truly, a great step forward for ABRP!
