Unknown SoC on Opel Astra Sports Tourer Electric 2025 (54 kWh)

Hello everyone,

I am trying to set up live data using the officially recommended OBDLink CX on my new Opel Astra Sports Tourer Electric (54 kWh), but I am completely stuck at the SoC reading.

Vehicle & Hardware:

  • ABRP Account: Premium User

  • Car: Opel Astra Sports Tourer Electric (2025) - 54.7 kWh battery

  • OBD Dongle: OBDLink CX (Bluetooth BLE)

  • Phone: Android Fairphone 4

  • ABRP Profile: Opel Astra Sports Tourer 54.7 kWh (currently marked as "Estimate")

The Symptoms:

  • ABRP successfully connects to the OBDLink CX (BLE connection is green/successful).

  • It successfully reads some data (Battery Temp is accurately reported at 33°C, Degradation at 97%).

  • The Problem: The SoC (State of Charge) remains "Unknown". Because of this, the overall vehicle connection status fails (Red X), making live data unusable for routing.

What I have already tried (without success):

  1. Vehicle state & Driving test: The car is fully turned on in "READY" mode (propulsion active) during all tests. I have also tried initiating the connection and troubleshooting while driving the car, but it did not change anything.

  2. Firmware: Updated the OBDLink CX to the latest firmware via the official app (and closed it completely afterwards).

  3. Alternative Stellantis Profiles: Tried selecting sister cars with the same 54kWh battery/156hp motor (Peugeot e-308, Jeep Avenger, e-208, Corsa). It either stays in "Estimate" or fails to pull the SoC.

Conclusion & Request: Has anyone successfully managed to get the SoC working on the new 2025 Opel Astra or similar 54kWh models? Could the ABRP dev team look into updating the vehicle database to remove the "Estimate" status and fix this?

    Hi,

    it looks like the newer Stellantis cars have a different battery, we have a profile for those too, but not enabled by default for all cars. I will now enable that profile for the Astra 2025+, it should be live in about 15mins. So please disconnect from OBD and try adding it again later today and let me know if that helped. If you still see issues, please send a bugreport again.

            Hey, actually the values that we read should work with the new profile. But it looks like the app still loaded the old profile. I redeployed it and verified that your car model loads the right file. Could you please try again? If it still fails try logging out and in again, make sure no custom obd list is active. If it still fails please send another bug report.

              It's working thank you very much ! But I have a last problem :

              The soc with the odb say 88% but my car say 93% . Can I adjust this ?

              And sometime the Bluetooth logo turn red, it's normal ? It's upload not in real time the soc ?

                Hm looks like the car is quite a bit different to the other Stellantis cars. Unfortunately we have no knowledge about the exact pid values if they are not the same as the other cars. There is the custom OBD pid editor you can use to adjust the commands and calculations inside the live data settings. Maybe you can find something in an Opel Astra forum or so, where people have reverse engineered the correct pids. Once you find proper values, you can send us the right values.

                It actually looks like the value is BMS SoC and not display SoC. Maybe you can find out something about the difference and find the right command to send?

    Hi

    To help us figure out what happens we need you to send a bug report. First you need to enable the bug button in the settings. Go to the settings → Display & appearance and scroll all the way down.

    The bug button will show on your screen. When the OBD is connected to your car and the car is in drive mode click at the button. Then let me know when you have done this.
