Here's my scenario: Point A is my home (north of Houston TX), and Point B is in Austin, Texas. The distance is about 154 miles. My 2022 Ioniq 5 AWD Ltd will travel about 225 miles with 90-98% charge. And, very importantly, I know I can make it from Point A to Point B without needing to charge. In fact, I can only have about 73% charge and still make it with 5% remaining. But here's the problem:

When I first start ABRP with, say 75% charge, from Point A and Point B, it says I can't make it so it puts in a charger stop. If I try to remove the charger (for "Just this trip") then it finds another… then another, then another, etc. I know I'll make it, so I really don't want it to suggest any charger.

You may ask why I'd use ABRP for this, and not something like Google Maps. The reason is, I also have an OBD2 device with Bluetooth, talking to ABRP. So, if I need to deviate for a meal or other task, it's nice to know if I'll still make it to Point B. If I had a toggle that turned off ALL chargers, just from Point A to Point B, and planned that route, that would be great. If I ran an errand and then looked at ABRP and saw that I'd have 0% left, then I could toggle it back on, and re-do the Planning.

Perhaps this wouldn't be necessary if the percent SoC left for any given route were more accurate. But whatever algorithm you use, it's very conservative. For example, if I start at Point A with 100%, ABRP will say I'll make it with 5% left. As I watch ABRP and we travel along (my wife is driving), then it will start increasing. 1/4 of the way there, it's now at about 10%; halfway there, it's at 15%, 20% at 3/4 of the way there, and it's telling me (accurately, finally!) 25% left when I arrive.

But if I start with, say, 80%… to resolve this particular issue, I'll drive about 20-30% of the way to my destination before I do the ABRP Planning. At that point, it may say I'll have 5% left when I get there and won't force a charging stop on me.

I hope that's clear. I don't know if my suggestion will work with the way the rest of the program works, but what I'm forced to do to use ABRP feels like a kludge. Thanks for listening.
