Temporarily disable OBD live data to avoid alarm being triggered on MEB vehicles
Hi there, due to the well-known issue where OBD triggers the alarm when the car is locked, why not add the option to temporarily disable OBD live data? It could be a button to tap or an option to automatically disable it when the car is stationary for more than x minutes. My dongle requires repairing every time I plug it in, so unplugging it every time I stop is not a viable option.

OBD starting alarm.
HI.
It’s a problem, that if you drive with an OBD dongle. That it sometimes starts alarm, because ABRP are waking up the OBD dongle.
If you pull out the OBD. The ABRP app automatically switches over to using encode.
Here is what I don’t understand. Why don’t you make a software “seitch” that sinply switches off the app communication with the car thru OBD, when the car is parked. Maby put in that the user can choose for how long the car have to be parked for the OBD communication to switch off. And. The OBD communication can switch in again, as soon as the app can se the car is moving.
It’s a fairly easy think to put in, and it would solve a big problem.

Car alarm and OBD
After you came with the last update the car alarms goes off a lot more often than before. I know it is because the dongle gets a request from ABRP to give a battery status and that will set off. The alarm. But. It most be possible to either make a manual on/off switch so that ABRP don’t use the dongle when parked, or that ABRP automatically don’t use the dongle when the car is parked.

This happens more because we made the connection better. The only thing you can do is to unlink the OBD when you are parked.

The cause may be a better or improved connection but your customers experience this as a fault and daily problem with car alarms being triggered

Same problem here, and at least 6 friends with same problem since recent update. After locking and leaving car, the alarm is triggered by OBD + ABRP.

Have successfully used Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ with ABRP version 4.1.11 on Android. However, when using ABRP outside the VW ID.4, after locking the car, it triggers the car alarm. Would it be possible to limit the ABRP use of OBD to only when connected to Android Auto?

As mentioned on reddit the car's antitheft protection alarm goes off when the OBD connection is established while the car is still locked. This seems to be a necessary security feature of the car so it can't be stolen; but I was wondering whether there might be a bug or feature to be implemented/fixed within the app to solve this issue.

I have a OBD dongle in the car this connects via Bluetooth to my car. When the car is locked and the alarm switched on the ABRP app still is capable to connect via the OBD dongle to the car. Is there a way that the connection to the car can be switched of when the car is closed?

As connecting to OBD on VW ID.s triggers the alarm when the car is locked, I suggest that you implement an on/off switch (software) in ABRP for OBD connection, so we can use ABRP for planning outside but close to the car without triggering the alarm.

it would be so nice. If there where a toggle on the OBD function. So that you can set it to off and then be sure that ABRP don’t communicate with the car. As it is now. Even to open the app will trigger the alarm.

Alarm going off when carging- BMW IX3
Hi,
I have a bmw ix3 connected with a obdlink cx. Has been running this setup for more than 2 years.
In the past few weeks I have seen the car alarm go off several times - but only when the car is AC charging, and I walk close to it with my phone. I suspect that it is something with ABRP connecting with the obdlink dongle triggering the alarm.
In the Danish bmw ix3 forum, several others has experienced the same issues within the last weeks.
Any ideas?

This happens to me too in a 2022 BMW iX3. Alarm starts when I lock the car due to ABRP and OBDLink. Extremely annoying.
