Strange detour on I-205 in California

I'm trying to plan my trip home and am seeing the following route planned:

There's an EA station (set as preferred for me since I have the free charging w/ my ID.4) in Tracy: https://abetterrouteplanner.com/?charger_id=6398029

When I force this into the route as a waypoint, the time drops from 8:29 to 7:36. I don't see why the algorithm doesn't plan for this anyways. I'm also including screenshots of the routes in case it isn't saved correctly.

Please let me know if there's something I'm doing wrong since this is making me feel like I can't trust the route planning of A Better Route Planner.
