ABRP divert me to secondary roads based on the maximum speed
I’m planning a rather large trip and I notice that ABRP proposes a section of my trip using secondary roads, bypassing the parallel highway, only to join the highway to charge and leaving the highway again right after charging. I had chosen the middle option in between frequent short stops and little but long stops.
- Where does this happen?

This max-speed-dependent routing has now been disabled until we better understand the implications of it. In other words, enjoy your low-speed highway driving :-)

I’m suspecting ABRP to divert me to secondary roads based on the maximum speed I’ve configured. When configured at 120km/h, I’m routed over the highway. When configured at 90km/h (because I’m towing a caravan) ABRP sends me over secondary roads. Strange to decision, as I’m not going to drive 1200 km on secondary roads.

Some other strange thing: I’m trying to figure out at what maximum speed I’m diverted to the highway.
At 90km/h I’m sent over secondary highway, at 100km/h I’m sent over the highway, but at 95km/h ABRP claims there is no possible route.

Any update on this? I specifically subscribed to ABRP premium to be able to charge at charge points suitable for trailers. However, if ABRP insists on sending me on secondary roads when driving with the trailer, I don’t see the point in the premium subscription anymore.

Still no update? I don’t understand why this is forced upon me? If I wanted to avoid highways, I could toggle the ‘avoid highways’ switch, but there’s no ‘prefer highways.

Correct, this is still pending. We have several higher prior issues at the moment. It is not closed, not forgotten.

To avoid any misunderstandings, the mistake is that ABRP generally does not take motorways into account at a "Max Speed" of 94 km and lower. This is as absurd as in the linked route, that for several hundred kilometres the overland road running parallel to the motorway incl. Passages through a city are preferred to the motorway. From 95 km/h "Max Speed" motorways are taken into account (correctly). Although only 1 km/h more "Max Speed", taking the motorway into account saves several hours, so the error is obvious.

We acknowledge that this is not what you want when having a max speed set - we will look into it asap and potentially just not use the max speed for route selection as it does not behave as it should.
