SoC ~50% at Border crossings

Hi ABRP Team,

when we go to vacation, there are some very busy boarder crossings with 7,8,9 hours of waiting time in the queue. Within those hours the air conditioning etc. is running. When we reach this queue at the border crossing with e.g. 15% SoC we get anxious if the battery will make it through the whole waiting time. To have more travel comfort (at least in our minds) i would appreciate a option. We should be able to put a SoC for border crossings. E.g. if i put 50%, the charging planning should help me to charge in a way, whenever i am at a border crossing, i should be at 50% SoC…. so if i have 30% SoC and i reach a crossing in 10km or so, it should route me first to charge up to e.g. 50% SoC, and then i can go and queue for crossing. It would disable so much stress. and it shouldn’t be a big deal for your developers. Thanks a lot for your attention. Looking forward to hear from you.

    Thank you for your request.

    For now, you can add a waypoint before the border and enter an arrival SoC in Waypoint options.

    It would be nice to be able to set a state of charge at an arbitrary stop in a trip instead of just at a charger or destination. I know that an option would be to make that point a destination, but then your only choice is to use the standard destination state of charge.

    Another way this would be helpful is for those destinations where I can’t charge and are far away from a fast charger. My in-laws live in rural Minnesota and I would like to set the arrival SOC to be 50% when arriving there so that I know I can easily reach a fast charger on my way home. At home, a 10-20% SOC is fine.
