Search Results Should Favor the Best Matches

I searched on “farrelli” hoping to find locations for “Farrelli’s Wood Fired Pizza” a number of locations were returned, but they were intermixed with close, but inexact, matches.

There are also a number of results that seem completely irrelevant, for example: San Leandro, CA and Branchville and Williston in SC. At the very least the results should be sorted by the term matched and then distance to improve the usefulness of the results.

Where does this happen?

    Thanks! We bias the search results to the center of the map so when searching for Farrelli’s when you show Seattle on the map will give you the correct result.

      Thanks! The results seem much better when start a search with the map centered on my location. Would it be possible to add an option to recenter the map before doing the search? I’m not sure when I would find the current behavior more useful than “auto-centering” but I assume that you must know of use cases where that behavior is desirable.
