Route selection is ignored

On my daily commute there are two completely different routes suggested:

  • longer route with higher travelling speed, less congestion, more energy demand; mostly country roads (which I always choose with my combustion engine)

  • shorter inner city route

With my Microlino I always choose the short inner city route. Every day I experience that after a few turns ABRP ignores my route selection and swiches to the other one.

Note that I cannot verify this because there is no birds eye view for the entire route I am travelling. I have to zoom to see what is happening.

I am fine with dynamic route changes as long as they follow my basic initial selection.

Where does this happen?

    Hello, here some more details:

    Start of drive with two alternative routes. Highway and inner city.

    Top one is the faster/preferred one from ABRP, I choose the second one and start driving.

    Unfortunately the GPS Position of the vehicle is unprecise during route calculation, so the beginning of the calculated route is not in the direction of my drive direction after start:

    I will drive away to the right, not to the north.

    This leads to an immediate recalculation after 10m with the result of ABRP taking it’s preferred route, despite I would also cross my choosen route within hunderts of meters.

    Now I need to fiddle around again, changing route…… annoying.

    Please fix this, that’S not state of the art.

    Hello ABRP

    I encounter the same behavior. My take:

    If ABRP proposes two different routes, ABRP chooses it’s Prio1 route first. If you than choose the second one and start driving it is a question, if you stick to the choosen route or you deviate from it. Sometimes you need to deviate (construction site, wrong turn…). Whenever you force ABRP to recalculate the route, ABRP falls back to it’s Prio1 route as long as this one is preferred by ABRP, despite you decided before to follow the less periodized route.

    That messes up the complete drive. ABRP tries to guide you back to the other route, you try to get the alternative back, fiddling around on the screen,….dangerous und unnecessary. There needs to be a way to stick to the alternative route, even this is less favourable in the eye of ABRP. Please fix this.

    The situation is getting even worse. I have encountered multiple times now that on my commute back home there is only one route proposed by ABRP, which is the longer one I don’t like.

    Half of the way on my short route back home ABRP tries to route me back to the long way.

    I have tried disabling live traffic while on the way (and of course “re-planning”), but this doesn’t make a difference.

    Please give this priority. You can even trace me live in the app or give me a beta version for debugging if this helps.

    As it currently is I don’t think it is acceptable for 5€/month.

    In this case there is no short route offered, but you can image yourself. Might be dependent on day time.
