Route Not Finishing / Infinite Recalculating Loop on Arrival (Volvo EX40 MY25 - Automotive Version)
Hi ABRP Team,
I’m experiencing a persistent issue with the Automotive version of ABRP on my MY25 Volvo EX40.
When I reach the selected destination, instead of showing a “You have arrived” message, the app begins recalculating endlessly, displaying a spinning circle.
Even if I manually end the trip by pressing the X icon, the issue persists when I enter a new destination — it gets stuck in the “Recalculating” state again.
The only workaround is to force close and reopen the app, after which routing works ok.
This happens consistently and makes the app unreliable for consecutive trips.
Could you please investigate this behavior?

Additional Details for Bug Report (with Screenshot):
The attached screenshot shows the state of the app after cancelling a trip using the X icon.
After entering a new destination, the app becomes unresponsive:
The destination search and selection works, but the “Drive” button does not appear.
The route is displayed on the map, but very slowly, much slower than usual.
Navigation never starts, and no directions are sent to the driver display.
This issue only resolves after I force close and reopen the app. Then, navigation works properly for one trip only. However, the same problem occurs again after arriving at the destination — requiring another app restart.
Please investigate this issue. Let me know if you need additional logs or information.

Thanks for reporting! We think that the underlying ABRP app has crashed and only the UI remains. Can you verify that by trying to move the map after this happens? If the map cannot be moved then the app has crashed in the background.

I tested it again today, and I can still move the map with my fingers while it keeps saying “Recalculating.”
It also continues to display “Recalculating” in the driver’s HUD, even though the destination has already been reached.
The route remains visible on the screen as if navigation is still ongoing.
Additionally, yesterday I received a message from the AAOS system stating that ABRP was negatively impacting overall system performance.
The system stopped the app and suggested that I should consider deprioritizing it if the issue persists.

The message from AAOS is strange but probably due to the relatively slow CPU on the Volvos.
So just to clarify for us:
1) You make a plan in the car - it returns a plan
2) You press “Start” and it tracks you along the path
3) You reach the destination and then it starts “Recalculating”?
After 3, can you create a new plan or change settings successfully?

1, 2, and 3 are all correct.
The recalculating continues indefinitely unless I manually cancel the plan by pressing the X icon — until then, I can’t create a new route.
Once I cancel the plan using the X icon, the search and settings options become active again.
I’m able to search for a new destination, and the app finds it, but the route does not start — navigation doesn’t activate.
If I force-close the app and reopen it, I can then search and create a new plan as expected.
The core issue seems to be that the trip doesn’t end automatically upon reaching the destination.
Interestingly, if I cancel the trip before I reach the destination, I can immediately create a new route without any problems.

Hello, i just updated the app to 6.1.1 and it doesn’t even start. Just after the splash screen, it throws me to the main screen. Uninstalled and installed for multiple times, rebooted the infotaintment system but does not work.

First of all, thank you for the quick actions and improvements! Here’s some feedback from my recent experience:
The crash issue after the splash screen seems to be resolved.
The infinite route recalculation problem after reaching the destination appears to be fixed.
When the screen is idle (no route planned), the battery indicator overlaps with the settings and search buttons.
Once those two buttons disappear, the battery indicator displays correctly.
When a route is created and “Next Step” is selected as the navigation mode, the app initially behaves correctly by showing the full route on the map. However, it then automatically switches the view mode: it first zooms in, then zooms out again.
In short, this part is still not stable and doesn’t behave consistently.

Thanks for testing and great feedback! On the Volvo, do you get an ABRP map on the screen behind the steering wheel when you navigate?
The zooming around next step mode is being worked on right now, we agree that it is not working optimally.

Yes, on the Volvo I do get the ABRP map on the screen behind the steering wheel once navigation starts. It typically appears with abrp icon first around 10–15 seconds after I begin driving. However, in some cases during my tests, the ABRP map unexpectedly disappeared and was replaced by Google Maps. This seems to happen especially when I try to search for and add a new waypoint during active navigation — the search sometimes fails, and even if I manage to add the waypoint, the ABRP map doesn’t reappear behind the wheel.
Additionally:
When traveling without active navigation (just with the map open), the position icon on the map doesn’t align exactly with the road, which can be confusing.
Map interactions such as pinch-to-zoom and manual panning feel noticeably slower compared to the previous version. I’m not sure if this is related to the test build, but performance seems to have regressed a bit.

Hello again, Crash after splash screen seems fixed. Location search crashes and after that navigation on the Driver Screen behind the wheel crashes. Next target mode seems to work better. When there is no active navigation but the app is up and running, got an android system message again about the app is consuming too much system resource and the app was deactivated by the OS. (6.1.2 beta Internal test.)
