Reminder to activate battery pre-conditioning before next DC fast-charging stop
Many EVs only start battery pre-conditioning when the car’s own navigation is set to a DC fast charger, sometimes you can also activate pre-conditioning manually. When using ABRP for guidance — especially via CarPlay/Android Auto — it’s easy to forget to switch to the car’s built-in navigation in time, which results in arriving at the charger with a cold battery and significantly slower charging.
Feature request:
Add an optional ABRP notification that alerts the driver approximately 30 minutes before the next planned DC fast-charging stop.
The reminder could say something like:
“Time to enable battery pre-conditioning.”
Suggested implementation options:
Trigger the alert ~30 minutes before arrival or at a configurable time/distance threshold (e.g., 20–40 minutes / 20–40 km).
Notification delivered via phone push, CarPlay/Android Auto, or both.
Only activate for DC charging stops, not AC.
Why this matters:
Ensures optimal charging speed by arriving with a warm battery.
Matches real-world use where ABRP is the primary trip planner but car OEM nav must be used to trigger pre-conditioning.
Reduces user error on long trips with multiple charging stops.
