The real-time traffic estimate function is quite useful, but I have found that it over-estimates traffic in many cases. A major scenario where this seems to occur is that I'll see a segment of red (busy) road on my current travel path where it crosses another road or overpass or similar; there is no congestion at this point, and the arrival estimate updates immediately to cut a few minutes off my time prediction once I drive past the overpass/underpass.

Maybe ABRP is detecting traffic on the crossing road and misinterpreting it as congestion on the current road? I'm not sure what sort of control your traffic API gives, but if there are adjustments that can be made to account for this it would improve the accuracy of the real-time traffic estimates.

Where does this happen?
