onboarding in Android Automotive not functional (R5 E-tech)

Hello,

I drive a renault 5 with Google Automotive. I can install the app in the car, it starts fine and I can grant the 2 permissions it asks for, but as soon as I click Sign On or “Choose Car” (not sure how the English version is phrased), either nothing happens (for Sign on) or the list does not populate (for Choose Car), i.e. stays empty even when writing Renault or Tesla in the search field.

I even enrolled in the beta, no change.

Since I cannot access the settings screen, 5.7.2 is the version Google Automotive tells me it is.
