Older route plans no longer plan properly

I’ve encountered an issue that has happened multiple times with saved route plans. After some time (typically weeks or months of inactivity), certain saved plans no longer load or route correctly. When I try to open the plan, I receive a message that the route cannot be planned. Upon inspection, I see that every location in the list has changed to “My Position,” even though the markers on the map are still near where they were originally placed—but not quite accurate.

This makes the plan unusable and requires me to manually recreate the entire route, which is frustrating, especially for multi-day or complex trips. I’m always logged into my account when saving and accessing these plans, and I do not use “My Position” for any stops in the plan except possibly the starting point.

Please let me know if there’s a way to prevent this from happening or if there’s a fix in development. I’d be happy to share an example route or exported data if that helps with troubleshooting.

    Thanks for reporting! We are anonymizing older plans that have not been loaded for one year, and this will look like all positions are nameless (and therefore shown as “My position”). But it sounds like this anonymiziation has happened way too early for you. Please send the name and/or plan UUID (share plan in ABRP) to contact@iternio.com and we will look into it.

    So in summary: I’ve now confirmed that every plan over 30 days old has this issue. Even if a route can still be calculated, all waypoints appear slightly off and are labeled “My Position.” Once I click “Restart,” the route breaks entirely, and all stop names are lost.

    It looks like ABRP is degrading or losing location metadata for older plans. This affects all my saved routes beyond the 30-day mark, which makes long-term trip planning unreliable.

    Is ABRP decoupling saved waypoints from precise location names or coordinates after a certain time window? The names default to “My Position,” and the coordinates slightly drift, possibly due to:

    • Geolocation rounding or loss of reference to the original map object

    • Purged or archived place-name data (to save space or comply with map provider terms)

    • A glitch introduced in a recent backend or UI update

      Unfortunately, privacy concerns (and laws) makes it a tricky balance between convenicence and privacy sometimes. I have checked your plans and it seems like they have been anonymized because the app never loaded the saved plan once, meaning we did not have a notion of it being important to anyone. This is a bug in the app and will be fixed in the next version

      Since your plans have been anonymized already, we unfortunately cannot recover them. Until the new version of ABRP is released with a fix, you can avoid this by loading the plan once after saving it - then it will be retained for at least two years.

    Update: this has happened to ALL of my saved plans that are older than 30 days. Some of the simpler, older plans will still plan and route, but when I look closely at the waypoint, it is just a bit off and NOT right on the proper location. Also when I click the “restart” button the list of waypoints shows all “My Position” in every entry.
