I used ABRP to plan an EV trip to France BUT I used Google maps for the navigation because I was able to download maps of the UK and France for cases where there are spotty mobile connections. I should be able to just use ABRP and have offline maps there

    This is actually essential and the biggest reason for not using ABRP for navigation. Bad mobile networks in the mountains between nortern Norway and nothern Sweden gave me an extra 70km drive, annoying as he... Please give us the opportunity to download maps.

    Offline maps

    Would be good to have offline maps option so that when travelling aboard the phone doesn’t use as much data. Similar to google maps it would be good to have option to download to prevent this. Terrain maps are great but if you lose cell coverage or abroad would be good to have this option.

    There are also scenarios where mobile networks don’t ‘play nice’ and cripple data even in area of good signal. I agree that the biggest value add is from areas with compromised mobile / data signal due to geographic features.

    Map cache

    You need to improve caching of maps for routes where cell service is limited. I frequently drive in areas with poor cell reception, and after entering those areas the navigation fails and doesn’t show anything. This is a major bug and a safety hazard.

    This is very same case on the border between Italy and Switzerland. The italian cellular providers do not do roaming for Switzerland, causing the navigation to fail/get stuck in case the phone picks up another phone antenna. Did happen to me this year in Varese, around Lago Maggiore.

    I would love to see this for the US as well, I have spotty cell service reliably where I start trips, and having offline maps would be clutch. I currently use Apple Maps mainly because they have this feature integrated

    +1 for this. I have loved using ABRP for planning however it is not viable as navigation app as per Apple Maps/google maps/tomtom expert which have offline maps. Appreciate it wouldn’t update live charger occupancy but to be able to start a journey when in an area with low/no reception is fundamental.

    +1 for this. at the minimum it should cache frequent routes or allow similar to Apple Maps or others to download portions of the map. Especially relevant when roaming close to borders.

    Offline Maps

    Offline maps are desperately needed! My typical commute involves an area that has awful cell service thus making this app useless while driving through that area even just for knowing my EV’s arrival charge level. PLEASE add offline maps!
