ODB is pulling data but stills says failed to connect

Trying to pair ELM my bluetooth dongle. It goes through the first two steps instantly and displays correct vehicle data, but then the third step fails. It obviously HAS connected correctly because it is showing the data!! This is a brand new dongle, is not paired in Android settings, and there are no other apps running or paired to the dongle. This is the only reason I paid for a subscription.

Where does this happen?
ABRP version number (found at bottom of settings menu)

    Hi

    We don’t have very good experience with the ELM OBDs so that might be the problem. It also need to use BLE to work with our app. You can read more about the OBDs that we know will work here Choosing an OBD device

      Thank you, this was indeed the issue. When I switched from an ELM to BLE device, it worked correctly.
