OBD does not reconnect after lost

Did a roadtrip over the last 4 days with the veepeak ble+ connected to my 2025 Ioniq 5 sel and iPhone 16 pro max with iOS 26.5. The connection is fairly stable after allowing location “always”. However what happened consistently several times is that while driving and using CarPlay we’d pick up the phone and while ABRP is slowly loading on the phone we’d switch apps and at that point the connection would be lost. Even when switching back to ABRP the connection is dead. The only way to resume it was to go back to vehicle settings in the app and link the obd device again OR to kill the app. After starting the app again it was fine but it’s hugely inconvenient. Also killing the app while a drive is active in CarPlay hung a few times so had to stop the drive first, kill the iOS app, start it, then click drive again. Nice that it remembers the plan at least.

There should be more concern and features from the app if the live connection is stale to let the user tell the app to reconnect and see feedback that the app is trying to connect.

The app should try harder to resume the connection.

The app should resume faster when navigating in the background. The splash screen shows for actual seconds.
