No voice engine installed

At the start of the app, there is a prompt that "no voice engine is installed". There is a "configure" menu, but when I click it, it opens Google Play to the Android Google app "Speech recognition & Synthesis", which is allready installed and otherwise functional

    I have the same problem with the app installed on the Android system of my BYD Seal. If a solution is not found soon, I will be forced to cancel the subscription.

    Same problem here.

    Device Fairphone FP4

    /e/os 2.5 (Base is Android 13)

    As /e/ is without Google functions like Play Store: Which Google functions are necessary to detect and use TTS. Installed are Pico TTS and Google Speech Recognition & Synthesis.
