ABRP V4.2.5 on CarPlay display.
The next step view no longer switches to the 3D view before turning maneuvers. The zoom level is not useful.
The three pictures show that 3km, 1km and even 400m before the turning maneuvers (intermediate destination is a charging station at a motorway service area) there's still the next step view and no change to the 3D view.
By the way, the route instruction should not be "go straight ahead for another 1km/100m" but "turn right in 1km/100m"!
Switching to the 3D view during turning maneuvers is very useful and helpful.
I think older ABRP versions (older than V4.2.x) could do that.
ABRP v4.2.6
I had a look at this issue again.
When you drive in next destination view, beginning approx. 5km before the next turning instruction, ABRP zooms in the map, so you can only see the following 500 to 800m of the street.
You donβt see if there are any curves or how the course of the road will be. You nearly drive blind. One cannot prepare in time for a u-turn or just a slight turn. You only see it at the last seconds. Thatβs dangerous!
I think in earlier versions, ABRP displayed the turning point at the map all the time up to the turn. The map section was zoomed in until the end, you could always see the turning point during the last few kilometers.
Unfortunately, this is currently not the case.
It would be very helpful to change the zoom-in logic to what it was.
The actual solution, to show only a small part of the street before the turn, is not helpful and dangerous.
With ABRP V4.2.8 still the same.
Is there an Intention to improve it?
