"Next Charger" - Needs improvement.

While driving, there is a button “Next Charger”.

This however will pick the CLOSEST charger to the current position, while the wording “NEXT” implies, it would reschedule the plan, trying to reach a later charger along the route.

Overall, while driv… äh… stoping and adjusting, a quicker way of “pushing back” a charge stop would be nice to have.

As a Software-Developer, I could think of this as a “quick wizzard” that tries to achieve the goal with a few clicks:

1.) Tap on “Next Charger”.
2.) Popup appears, giving 3 simple choices:
- Same Provider
- Favourite Provider
- Any Provider

After selecting, ABRP tries to reschedule accordingly. If a “higher level” (i.e. Same Provider) fails, It should skip to “Favourite Provider”, stating “A next stop could not be scheduled with provider X, however, we found a possible later charger with provider Y. Reschedule next stop to XYZ?” {Yes} {No}

Reasoning:
Sometimes traffic conditions make you reach a indentended charger on a high soc, leading to a slow(er) Chargerate. Beeing able to quickly adjust would save time.

    I was just about to propose the same thing but found this post.

    I also find the current implementation of “next charger” confusing / not helpful.

    My use case is: I am on the way, following a planned route. I realise that the plan was too conservative and that the battery (potentially) has sufficient charge to get me to the next charger. Or the planned charger is currently blocked but I might have enough charge to make it to the next one along the route.

    Currently the “next charger” button doesn’t help in these cases. It onl shows the closest/”next” ones from the current position. And they are also not sorted by distance but randomly.


    Better would be: show 4 alternatives - two from the current position and the two next chargers following along the route after the current planned/targeted charger.
