Navigation freezes on Android ABRP v6.1.9

Bug Reports

After planning a route and clicking the Drive button the app appears to freeze and fails to update my location.

There's a 30 second lag which unsticks eventually and updates my position but then freezes for another wait.

Navigating using Google maps or Osmand is smooth and responsive.

Phone is a Pixel 7

Any help much appreciated

Where does this happen?
ABRP version number (found at bottom of settings menu)

    I have the same with my galaxy S24Ultra. Everything seems ok, but with android auto im stuck with a frozen screen. App stops navigating. Very annoying

    Thanks for reporting! Some questions:

    • Does the app still respond to touches and map moves etc when location does not update?

    • Can you check location permissions for ABRP? Also background location?

    • Is there some kind of battery optimization enabled for ABRP?

    • And the classic: Have you tried reinstalling the app?

      Thanks for the pointers.

      The app was responsive while the position was stuck

      Location permissions were ok

      There was a battery optimisation in place so that has been unset.

      Tested again and location is now reported continuously. So problem solved.

      Now to try to sort out Android Auto connectivity issues!
