Navigation freeze
For about a week, I have been experiencing an issue where activating a planned route causes the route navigation display to freeze in both CarPlay and on my phone. I have to restart my iPhone 15, which is running the latest updates, to get it working again. The issue then seems to occur again at random later on. Other routeplanning apps on my phone work correctly. Any ideas?

Do you experience the app being slow during trips too or that it lags a lot and you are not able to use the touchscreen on your infotainment system? Does other things happen to your phone (slower than usual, other apps does not respond well)?
Can you share a video of when you start the route and it freezing (you mention it happening randomly)?

Hey, thx for quick reply. It occurs during trips indeed. But screen works fine. Tapping other functions as settings or views works fine. Zooming in or out works fine. It’s just like the position marker isn’t moving and therefore the screen doesn’t move. Again other navigation apps work well and phone is working fine. I’ll try to make a video, but driving and filming at the same time is not very save… I’ll ask someone else! Thank you.

I have this issue as well with my iPhone 17 on iOS 26.6 with ABRP at the latest update version. I’m on a trip where each day I have three or four charging stops planned and saved as a Trip. For the first couple of stops, I can cancel the plan, then remove ABRP from the active apps on my iPhone, restart it when I’m ready to resume, reload the plan but alter it to remove destinations I’ve already been at, re-plan, and drive. But by the time I’ve done this too many times in a day, ABRP just freezes the display and won’t do anything; this usually begins by being “updates location every couple of minutes” but the intervals extend until it never updates. At that point, I have to restart my iPhone. Apple Maps continues to work normally even when ABRP is frozen. I’ve also noticed that if I get a text on the Messages app and access that app and respond to the message through CarPlay while ABRP is active on a route, ABRP will immediately freeze and not recover.

Wow and I thought I’m the only one recognizing this behavior. Had this little bit more then one week ago, where I started my holiday trip to Austria and ABRP stopped working/freezing on mobile and CarPlay.

I have the exact same experience now. Now it seems like I stoped halfway on my route and I can not delete and start a new plan.

I have the same thing happening on iPhone SE with iOS 26.5.2, everything updated to latest version. ABRP seems to “freeze”, updating the location every 30 seconds or so (also SoC and GPS speed). Both through wired and wireless carplay. Other navigation apps keep working, moving along with the drive. It seems restarting ABRP or the iPhone doesn’t influence the behaviour much, it just seems to appear randomly.. Since I only use ABRP on Carplay, I don’t know if it also happens on the phone.

I have the same, the map and instruction frequently freezes while driving, especially when diverting from the suggested route. Version 7.1.4 (5924) on android 16
