“My position” isn’t my real position

When I plan a new route “my position” seems to default back to the destination of the last calculated route rather then my real actual position.
You can see this in the attached screenshot. I calculated a route from home to some place this morning. Drove to my work (the blue dot in the screenshot) without navigation.
If I now try to calculate the route from my work to home it defaults back to my destination this morning as “my position”.
So the app knows that I’m elsewhere but still takes an old location as “my position”.
