My ABRP app and Toyota 2026 bZ XLE AWD are connecting only once an hour

Hi there, I don’t know if this is normal, but it looks like the app only updates every hour or so with my car’s charge status. I also get these images in the corner of the app on the screen that looks like it’s not connected at all?

I was under the impression that once I connected my app and car via enode that the charge status would be updated on the app every few minutes. I knew it wasn’t continuous but I thought it was supposed to be every 3-5 minutes.

Can someone please advise? Thank you!

    How did you contact obd dongle with your 2026 Toyota BZ XLE AWD with ABRP app? I couldn't get it connected

    I had another user with the same problem and got this answer from Enode:

    “Toyota's API does not reliably provide fresh telemetry data. When we poll Toyota's endpoints, their backend often returns cached data rather than live readings, which means updates to SoC and other fields can be significantly delayed or absent, both while driving and when parked.

    Additionally, as part of our ongoing partnership with Toyota, we have adjusted our polling frequency at Toyota's request. This means data updates from Toyota vehicles are now less frequent than they were previously. We are working with Toyota through this partnership to improve data quality and freshness on their side, but for the time being, the update frequency for Toyota vehicles remains limited.

    Unfortunately this is a vendor-side limitation that we are unable to resolve on our end. We will continue to push for improvements through the partnership.”
