MINI iDrive 9 / iOS 18.2- ABRP Map / OEM Map overide
ABRP map display takes over OEM map in all OEM displays, regardless of ABRP app being active or not. Closing the app does not close the ABRP map display. Only deleting the app from iPhone closes the ABRP map display.

Can you share some more details on this? Maybe you can record a short clip showing your issue?
So far we just implement all the CarPlay features and the car and/or user choose what to show. We can't ask the car on what to bring up, that is handled by CarPlay itself.
How does it compare to Apple Maps?
On the CarPlay simulator Apple Maps shows a map by default in the cluster, in case the user decides to start ABRP we take over the cluster.

ABRP seems to start running as soon as CarPlay connects to car, then ABRP map takes over the OEM map display in cluster, but not in the OEM Nav display. Opening and closing ABRP app removes map display from cluster, leaving a black screen. Only by selecting the OEM Nav display then OEM map is displayed in cluster.

Thanks for all the pictures. As far as we are aware (according to Apple docs) CarPlay just brings up ABRP again since it was the last used navigation app when you connect your phone to the car. There is nothing we do on that. I see the same for other navigation apps on the CarPlay simulator including Apple Maps.
Can you double check on that? Try to navigate somewhere with Apple Maps (or any other navigation app), stop it, disconnect and reconnect.

ABRP app map display shows up in cluster regardless of being the last app used or not. No other Nav app displays like this, regardless of being last used or not. OEM Nav display should be the default display in the map screen.

Thank you again for all the provided information, I think I got a fix in place now. We’ll release a fixed version soon. :)
