If the next stop tile was a button, it could be used to display expanded information about the upcoming charger or stop. In the current implementation (iOS 6.1.0 (3491)) the next stop display in the upper right corner in Apple CarPlay often doesn’t have enough space to display the full information on the charger.
What I’d like:
If the next stop is a charger, I’d like to see:
The name of the charging network (e.g., EVgo, EA, Chargepoint, etc.).
The name and/or number of the station as it is known on the network app / website (to facilitate a manual lookup of the station in the app, or to make it easier to refer to the station when calling support).
The full address of the station.
Closing time if not a 24 hour station - it might also be nice to have an “isolated location” flag so that folks traveling at night could choose to avoid isolated stations if those didn’t feel safe to them.
ETA / distance to the station.
Links to the support phone number and/or the station in the network app if it is installed.
If the next stop is an intermediate stop, I’d like to see:
The name of the stop (if known).
The full address of the stop.
ETA / distance to the stop.
Other information such as closing time or a phone number (as a link to initiate a call) would be nice if it was available.
UX wise, I’d like to have that information remain on the display until I closed it.
The ability to easily get better information about charging stations would be especially nice since many of them do not appear to have good APIs for sharing that information with ABRP or choose not to share it.
