Live traffic issues

I have notice that the only time live traffic is show is when you plan a route, it does not show when there is no route planned, unlike the built in system and other sat navs is there a way to turn this on so show it when there is no route planned,

I expected this to be shown all the time as it is Live Traffic Updates

I have another post requesting options for a refund around the encode connection for the nissan, both of this options are listed as a premium feature, which i have paid for and I am not receiving features service I expected, (not necessary all of fault by the app) .
