Keeps going into 2D mode

I plan a route and start driving. It starts off showing the route in 3D showing turns but after awhile it’ll go into 2D view showing full route. It still gives instructions where but without the 3D mode it’s impossible to use. I can’t get it back to 3D without rebooting my phone.

Any help please.
