Vehicle is often shown on the map facing the wrong direction, and the map consequently orients itself inaccurately. (If possible, maybe app could collect compass data via OBD-II?)
Could you add more information about where this happens? In the iOS app or CarPlay?
Does it happen while you have navigation active or when you don’t have any active plan with navigation?

Absolutely! It happens in iOS and on CarPlay mostly when there’s no active navigation, but it does occasionally do so during navigation.

Got it. Currently, we are somewhat dependent on both there being an active plan and you doing a bit of speed in order for us to provide a correct direction.
This is why we’re less accurate in “free driving mode” and also perhaps at lower speeds and while standing still at a red light.
But we should be able to improve on this. I’ll convert this ticket to a feature request.
