Add the possibility to import an GPX-Track

Can you please consider a GPX file import feature. I’m travelling to Europe extensively this summer in my EV…but all the maps have been done on another system (ice driver). It would be amazing to be able to import those GPX files into ABRP! Thanks so much in advance!

would love this feature as well, i've driven a long (11.000 km) roadtrip with a regular diesel in 2014 and would love to do the same trip with my ev sometime. i had created the gpx track with garmin software back then, to include specific mountain roads, see special points of interest on the route, and avoid certain bits of highways where a nicer looking, more relaxed route was available past some fjords. while it seems possible to basically re-do that whole trip manually and try to get abrp to follow my exact route, a gpx import function would make this much much quicker.

Hi Samuel, importing GPX files: there are many services offering the download of scenic/ elaborate routes one can then import into their navi and drive them. - Exporting GPX files is the opposite: when haven driven an scenic / unusual route one could then share it/them with that community. Or share them with friends ….. no to many drive an EV as of yet and use ABRP but a TomTom or alike. The exporting / importing would be a great add-on

    I definitely support this feature request. This is a must have. So many travel guides propose defined tours and .gpx files to be downloaded which are ready to use! There’s no way import/use them in ABRP for the time beeing.

    Same issue for electrical motorcycle drivers. One don’t need ABRP to develop a feature to generate curvy itineraries for motorcycle tours, other GPS app are specialized in such capabilities. But the minimum one can expect from ABRP (or any navigation app) is to be able to import the corresponding .gpx file!

    import gpx files

    Is there a way to import a gpx file? My husband has a bike route (ride with gps gpx file) that he would like to drive. I have converted the route to a google map file. I didn’t find a way to import either type of file. Thanks for your help

    I would find GPX import very helpful and I don’t think it is as hard as was suggested.

    There is a huge library of interesting driving routes in myrouteapp.com and they can be exported as GPX files which mark both waypoints and guidepoints. I would like to use the preexisting routes, or my own, and load them into ABRP which would take care of optimised charging.

    Hi all,

    We do see the point with this for sharing specific road trips. However, since the file would contain all logged coordinates, we’d be unable to directly convert it to waypoints (it would be far too many for the planner and not helpful for the user).

    It would be thinkable to instead use guide points, but even in this case it would cause issues since they still count as points like waypoints (which are subjected to a limit). So, for now, unfortunately, there’s no easy way to handle imports that would allow us to support the requested functionality.

      You should have a look at other route planning tools like Beeline or Kurviger and see how they developped that feature.

      Since competitors are in advance on that topic and solved the issue, I guess ABRP could also find a good way to do it.
