Ignore seasonal closures for future road trip planning

I am finding it impossible to use ABRP to plan a better route because it seems to ignore the planning part and wont allow me to bypass seasonal road closures to setup future, summertime, routes.
This is weird. just let me plan the route and deal with whats open and when on my own…

To add to the OP, ABRP is missing an essential use case here. Surprising given Rivian’s focus on outdoor adventure.
I have to plan camping trips 6 months in advance in order to reserve campgrounds. ABRP is useless for this in certain parts of the country where roads are seasonally closed. An example of such a road is Going to the Sun Highway in Montana. Try planning a future route through Glacier National Park in winter and you will be frustrated with ABRP.
Could ABRP require an explicit override and display a prominent warning? Or disable the “Drive” button in situations like this? We’re trading the risk of being surprised by a road closure during winter with the much more likely risk of having to cancel a trip when summer arrives because we couldn’t properly plan for the required range. I can understand this behavior for in-vehicle navigation but it makes no sense for an app like ABRP that is used for advanced planning.

Note that if I set the departure time for summer (August), ABRP still avoids Going To The Sun Highway in Glacier National Park, MT. However Google Maps routes it as expected with the same date (August 7, 2025, start (West Glacier), and end (St. Mary Village). Like ABRP, Google maps doesn’t route along this highway during the winter. So the behavior is oddly different between the two apps. Google gets it right.
