BYD Seal 2023 vehicle issue and consumption rate
I am using a BYD Seal 2023 Standard Range RWD and I believe there may be an issue with the vehicle model or consumption calculation in ABRP. My current settings are: Reference consumption: 167 Wh/km Maximum speed: 125 km/h Relative speed: 100% Battery degradation: 4% CCS However, on a recent route ABRP calculated: Distance: 434 km Estimated energy consumption: 83 kWh One charging stop: 28 minutes Start SOC: 100% Arrival SOC: 16% 83 kWh over 434 km corresponds to approximately 191 Wh/km, which is significantly higher than the 167 Wh/km reference consumption configured in the vehicle profile. More importantly, my real-world consumption with this car is considerably lower. Over approximately 2,500 km, my overall average is around 162 Wh/km, including mixed driving. On longer trips I frequently see approximately 150–160 Wh/km, depending on speed and conditions. I understand that ABRP adjusts consumption for elevation, speed, weather and other factors, but the difference appears unusually large. The route planner repeatedly predicts much higher consumption and longer charging stops than I experience in reality. Could you please check whether the BYD Seal 2023 Standard Range vehicle model, battery capacity, efficiency curve or elevation calculation may be incorrect? I have attached screenshots showing the vehicle settings and the route calculation. Thank you.

Here is the ABRP plan link where the issue occurs:

The main issue is that ABRP predicts significantly higher energy consumption than the vehicle actually uses and consequently adds unnecessary charging time/stops.
My BYD Seal’s real-world average consumption over approximately 2,500 km is around 16.2 kWh/100 km, and on longer trips I often see around 15–16 kWh/100 km at roughly 90–110 km/h. However, ABRP’s SOC predictions are noticeably more pessimistic and do not seem to calibrate correctly despite using live OBD data.
Please let me know if you need any additional screenshots, trip data or OBD information.
Thank you.
