On a 2020 M1 MacBook Air, running macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 and Safari Version 17.6 (19618.3.11.11.5) the browser version if ABRP reports "GPS Denied" even though Safari's website settings (Settings > Websites > Location) allow the ABRP website to access location information.

I don't think I've got anything that should be blocking access to location information, but at the very least I'm quite sure that there is no GPS hardware -- it almost seems like the website is assuming that it's running on a phone. This is new behavior, I think, I'm pretty sure that I haven't run into this before about a month ago.

At the very least, it would be nice if you could:

  1. Not report GPS denied unless there is actual GPS hardware, instead report "Location Denied" or some such thing.
  2. Suggest specific steps to "brute force" resolve the problem -- something like how to enable location services on the platform and how to turn off all of the extensions (assuming that there is a single way to do that) or maybe a link to user contributed ways to do it if the project is huge.
Where does this happen?
