German voice guidance commands are read in english

I’m using ABRP in Android Auto. My smartphone is configured to use german language.
Using ABRP 5.0, the navigation instructions where properly read in german.
Using ABRP 5.5, I get german texts read by an english TTS engine, which results in nearly ununderstandable navigation commands.
I checked the Android Speech settings and selected another (german) voice. This helped for some hours, but after some trips ABRP switched back to the english TTS engine.
