Freeway is fractured into chunks

Along Highway US-101 in California, heading south from San Jose to Paso Robles, there are several places where the freeway seems to not be intact.

I am directed to exit the freeway, and immediately return to the freeway.

There is no traffic slowdown on the freeway.

Where does this happen?

        Can you specify exactly in which places of the route that these exists appear? I do not seem to find any redirections from San Jose to Paso Robles. Do you only mean that the issue occurs in San Jose where it does not take the exit to highway 101 but continues in towards the city instead and follows route 87?

          I don’t recall where it was. It might have been around

          I remember that “El Camino Real” was announced multiple times.

          “El Camino Real” is over 100 miles long, the original road decades ago, before there were freeways.

          We commonly follow this same route several times per year, so I will try to mark my location if it happens again.
