Feature Request: Prefer Plug & Charge (ISO 15118) Charging Stations

Dear ABRP Team,

First of all, thank you for creating such a powerful route planning tool. I use ABRP Premium together with an OBD adapter and appreciate the detailed planning capabilities.

I would like to request a new feature related to Plug & Charge (ISO 15118).

Requested Feature

Please add one or both of the following options:

• Filter: Show only charging stations that support Plug & Charge.

• Preference: Prefer Plug & Charge stations when generating routes, while still allowing non-P&C chargers if required.

Why this is useful

For drivers with vehicles that support Plug & Charge, the charging experience is significantly improved:

• No RFID card required.

• No mobile app interaction required.

• No QR code scanning.

• Charging starts automatically after connecting the cable.

• Faster and more reliable charging stops.

• Better user experience, especially during long-distance travel.

As Plug & Charge adoption is growing rapidly across Europe, route planning based on this capability is becoming increasingly relevant.

Possible Implementation

A simple implementation could be:

• ☑ Prefer Plug & Charge chargers

• ☑ Only use Plug & Charge chargers (optional)

The feature could rely on charger metadata indicating ISO 15118 / Plug & Charge capability.

Bonus Idea

Since many users have multiple charging contracts, it would also be useful if ABRP could combine Plug & Charge preference with existing network preferences (for example IONITY Passport, Electroverse, Kia Charge, Elli, etc.).

This would make route planning even more accurate and closer to the real charging experience.
