Extreme battery drain when using ABRP with OBD dongle (BMW iX3)”

Hi ABRP Support,

When using ABRP with an OBD dongle in my BMW iX3, my phone battery drains extremely fast, even while connected to a fast car charger. Today after 13 minutes/ 14km the phone battery drained so fast that I decided to travel onwards using google maps, while I had to travel 200km.

This happens on a brand-new Samsung S25, so it’s not a battery issue. As a result, the app is currently unusable for me when OBD is enabled.

Please let me know what is the fix for this, or the recommended setting to reduce the battery drain?

    Thank you for reporting this! I have created a ticket for this and will respond back when we know more. Have you had this issue occur before with any other applications that uses an OBD dongle?

    This may help us figure out if this is a problem with the vehicle itself or not, so if possible, please test out other applications with the OBD dongle in use.
