Excellent trip planner, disappointing navigation

I recently used ABRP to drive from Copenhagen, Denmark to Leipzig, Germany. I really like the trip planning functionality, especially the way ABRP handles route planning and charging stops.

However, I found the actual navigation to be quite disappointing. We tried using ABRP for the entire drive, but fairly quickly decided to switch to Apple Maps for navigation.

The biggest issue for us was highway lane guidance. Apple Maps does a very good job of telling you exactly which lane you should be in when approaching exits, junctions, lane splits, etc. ABRP often tells you where you need to go, but does not give sufficiently clear guidance about which lane you should be in to get there.

This becomes especially frustrating on large European motorways with several lanes and complicated interchanges. Knowing that you need to take an exit is useful, but knowing that you need to move into the second lane from the left, for example, several hundred metres before the exit is much more useful when actually driving.

I think ABRP has an excellent foundation for being an all in one EV navigation app. The route and charging planning are excellent, but the navigation currently isn't good enough for me to rely on it while driving.

I'd really like to see much more detailed and reliable highway lane guidance, similar to what Apple Maps provides. If the navigation could reach the same level as the trip planning, ABRP would be a much more compelling all in one solution for long EV trips.
