Erroneous GPS data poisons history

I have a 2019 Nissan Leaf, imported from Japan to NZ (very common here). The Clarion head unit’s GPS is region-locked to Japan coordinates. Even though I've physically disconnected the GPS antenna and snipped the VSS cable (so the head unit gets no live telemetry), when CarPlay is connected it still sends occasional erroneous coordinates to the iPhone.

This causes the ABRP map to briefly whoosh over to somewhere in the ocean and back to land (maybe once or twice per trip). This is occasionally disruptive to navigation, and the drive history distances are basically useless (see screenshot).

Google Maps is somehow filtering out these erroneous coordinate blips. I don’t have any issue there. But gosh DARN it, I wanna use ABRP! 😭 I like the live battery status and charge point routing. The app is otherwise great.

Can y’all please fix this? Or at least filter out such obviously incongruous GPS data in the activity history? 🙏

Where does this happen?

Hey, we can add some filtering. But don’t expect magic. Depending on where the GPS comes from and how often it is updated, it might still cause issues. We will give our best though to make it more stable for you.

That would be amazing! It’s so frustrating. Any improvement would be welcome.
