ELM327 connection drops after seconds

Hi, when I connect my ID Buzz via ELM327 BLE to ABRP it shows the right values but then they freeze and don’t change anymore even when driving. Seems it drops the connection. Any suggestions maybe? Thanks!

Where does this happen?

    Hi

We experience that the ELM OBDs don’t work very well. You can read here Choosing an OBD device about the OBDs we suggest.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. It’s actually a Vgate iCar Pro Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE) that I’m using. Maybe that helps.

Ok. To help us figure out what happen we need you to send a bug report. First you need to enable the bug button in the settings. Go to the settings and scroll all the way down.

The bug button will show on your screen. When the OBD is connected to your car and the car is in drive mode click at the button. Then let me know when you have done this.

Hi, I pressed the bug button as requested. Meanwhile I also noticed that there seem to be differences depending on the phone being used. With iPhone 16 pro it looks promising. For iPhone 15 it seemed to not really work. Like it pulled the data once when you connected the OBD adapter but froze immediately.

Thanks. I have sent it to my colleague.

            My colleague answered this:

“Sometimes it recovers, sometimes it does not, depends on many factors, some dongles for example only allow a connection in the first minute after booting up. So replugging the dongle or turning on/off the BT on phone might help if that is possible.”
