Distances displayed in miles on Automotive

Bug Reports

I just installed the beta on my Renault 5 with Android Automotive, and although it seems to work, it reports distances as miles and feet. The language is set to Danish, I’m in Denmark, and the car settings are set to metric.

I see no way to adjust this in the settings.

(I tried out the beta, since the released version just hung when trying to route.)

Where does this happen?

    Thanks for reporting! This is one of the first reports from the R5 so we are happy to learn how it works there.

    So the current issue is that all navigation attempts just spins forever before you even get the list of proposed routes?

      Indeed, yes. I took a photo of the screen, but it reveals my location rather accurately so I’d rather not post it here. Regardless, the precise display shown varies, but the results are consistent:

      I can see the route, or at least its beginnings, and ABRP seems to have plotted something, but I never get the option to select the route.

      I tried plotting a route to Malmö, and the results were even weirder: I got to see a route, with charging stops, and I could pan the map. But no actual prompt to pick a route or anything.

      A few screenshots — the first one shows that ABRP is indeed connected to the Internet:

      I noticed two minor issues in those:

      1. The triangles in the main menu seem misaligned.

      2. There’s a slight typo in the Danish translation, as “ruteindstillinger” is a compound word, and shouldn’t be written with a space. (Renault has much weirder errors in their translation, by the way…)

      As a minor aside, I’m not currently subscribed for the premium plan — that’ll have to wait until the app is actually usable…

        Agree to the visual bugs - but the main issue is still that you cannot get to selecting a route.

        We are currently rewriting the Auto(motive) parts of ABRP and will provide an internal test build within a week. If you are intersted in testing it, please send your Google account email to contact@iternio.com and we will add you to the list of testers.

    Okay, I tried reinstalling the app after setting all languages to Danish, and it’s now using proper units. The first navigation succeeded, but any subsequent attempt fails: It stalls listing the options.
