Custom Vehicle fails ABRP Beta

I can successfully add a custom vehicle (MGs6) and see it in the list of Custom Vehicles. Then what do I do? If I select 'Open ABRP' to jump to the planner, the custom vehicle is not available.

Here’s an idea: if your business is developing an app for EV drivers, wouldn’t it make sense to keep up to date with new EV models and add them as they enter the market? The MGs6 has been available since the end of 2025, so I would expect it to be supported by now. There is no reason for customers to spend money on an outdated app.

    Hi Rob,

    In ABRP app, click the `vehicle dropdown → Add new vehicle → Custom vehicles` and select your MG (see video). I imported your model and it seems to work. Let me know if there are any issues.

    Regarding your question about why we don’t support every model yet:

    It’s a valid question, and I absolutely see where you’re coming from. We currently cover over 1,100 models. Each of these can have different specifications and even different names depending on the region. Not all of this data is readily or reliably provided by manufacturers, and we want to be as confident as possible that the information we show is correct.

    In contrast, describing one specific, physical car (like your own) is much more certain. You know its exact specs, you can measure your own charging curve, and you can verify details directly, your car either has, let’s say a heat pump, or not whilst the model may generally have it as an optional.


    This is one of the main reasons we introduced custom vehicles: They let you get accurate results for your specific car without any waiting at all, even when the generic model data is incomplete, inconsistent, or even unavailable.

    Meanwhile, we aim most of our effort into building great features and reliability to make your trips effortless.
