ChargePlaceScotland chargers being migrated to EZO
Hi, a number of chargers in northern Scotland have started to migrate from ChargePlaceScotland to EZO, with work continuing for the next few weeks/months. The charger at 57.69730, -4.16778 used to be CPS and is now EZO, but both show on ABRP.
Note that there are also a number of chargers that ABRP is reporting as only on EZO, some that have gone missing but EZO are reporting as migrated, and some that are still on CPS but are also missing, as well as some that are still showing correctly as CPS.
This leading to some interesting route plans in the north of Scotland at the moment!

We noticed our data provider currently supplies us with several CPS locations where all plugs are tagged as ‘out of order’. We’ve contacted them regarding this as it is a significant number and there appears to be no EZO equivalent reported for these broken locations.

Hi Katya, thanks for following up on this. My understanding is that all of CPS chargers that were Regional Council owned have/are being migrated to EZO. There are however a number of business/local community owned chargers that need to find a new CPNO.
One that I’m aware of is Gairloch Community Hall (no longer shows on ABRP, but is across the road from https://abetterrouteplanner.com/?charger_id=125775584) has migrated to “evolt network” and shows as online in their app.
Then there are these two,

I believe that evolt used to be SWARCO and that SWARCO operated CPS, so it wouldn’t surprise me if a number of non-council chargers have ended up there. Given that this one shows up I’m not sure why the Gairloch one doesn’t.
Finally, from me, there is this one
https://abetterrouteplanner.com/?charger_id=160069222 which is still CPS, the double headed Type 2 works (it did on 07/04) but the ‘rapid’ CCS/Chademo/Type2 unit is reported offline (and has been for ages). The screen was on but as I had only planned on a Type2 charge I didn’t poke around too much! My assumption is that EZO won’t take on the chargers until they are both working.
Looking at the published EZO migration status, Lairg (above), Lochinver and Uig are the Phase 1 sites not yet completed which all appear to have a triple headed unit completely offline. Looking at ABRP you show Lairg & Lochinver as there are Type 2 chargers at the same location, while Uig has disappeared presumably as it has been offline for ages!
I did say finally, but I remembered that the CPS app can filter out partner networks and therefore only show the charging sites that are left. But, CPS are still showing the the Type2 post at Kinlochbervie (as offline) but no the triple headed unit that is there as well, while both show up as online for EZO, and here

Sorry, long rant, none of which is your fault! If you want to share a list of ‘missing’ sites I can attempt to figure out where they’ve gone.

Thank you for the information, I’ve yet to check each of the linked locations - but here’s what our provider responded to the list of locations I reported to them;
“We've unpublished all locations excluding Beachcomber Cafe, The Birch Cafe, and Auchinleck Lane (Port Glasgow). We are still receiving these locations in our connection with CPS. Once we stop receiving these locations, they will be removed from the feed.”

It looks as though the Argyll & Bute and The Western Isles councils have migrated to Scottish Power (using Fuuse as the back end), and the press release suggests that Shetland and Orkney are doing the same as well.

I’ve reported this to our data provider and asked them how aware they are of the migration.
Looking at the data we receive from them, it appears that we stop receiving updates for CPS chargers and instead start receiving EZO locations.
I’m afraid the migration won’t be hassle-free and that we will have to expect some delays in data updates, missing locations etc. - (which all will depend on the communication of data from CPS and EZO to our data provider and then to us) - but we’ll do our best to be up to date.
